‘The Legacy of Notting Hill Carnival’ Exhibition To Open Next Month

A new exhibition celebrating the history of Notting Hill Carnival is coming to London next month.

Set to open at London’s Somerset House on 13th August, ‘The Legacy of Notting Hill Carnival’ exhibition will feature a huge collection of works highlighting Carnival’s heritage and cultural impact. Among the pieces included will be photography, video/film, sound, costumes, sculptures and much more.

There will also be events to support the exhibition including a celebration on the opening night on 13th August, as well as music and talks in the form of ‘Reasonings & Riddims’ on 15th August.

‘The Legacy of Notting Hill Carnival’ comes as the popular annual event celebrates it’s 60th anniversary this year. The 2026 edition of Notting Hill Carnival is due to take place from 30th-31st August.

The exhibition is being led by creative studio, Bare Roots, with support from over 50 members of the Notting Hill Carnival community.

The exhibition will run between 13th–21st August at Somerset House. Entry is free and tickets can be booked here.
