Shoreditch’s Famous Rooftop Tube Carriages To Open As Brand-New Bar

If you’ve ever been to Shoreditch, you would’ve seen the tube carriages on top of music venue Village Underground and soon you’ll be able to be right next to them.

Ahead of its 20th anniversary celebrations next year, Village Underground has announced it will be opening a new rooftop bar which will provide visitors with access to its repurposed Jubilee Line carriages.

The terrace will also feature a pizza station from Bad Boy Pizza Society, as well as a bar offering an array of drinks including a “curated wine selection”. It has a capacity of 300 and will be available for events, launches and private bookings.

“For the first time, Village Underground opens its rooftop to the public,” Village Underground shared on their website.

“Set above our main venue, a renovated Victorian warehouse, the space brings together an open-air bar with access to our tube carriages – long a feature of the Shoreditch skyline but never before open to visitors.”

The rooftop bar is set to open on 3rd July and is set to become a new London hotspot over the summer months.
