Mark your calendars because the official date for the 2026 edition of the Black British Book Festival has been announced!
Established in 2021 by Selina Brown, the annual event is dedicated to shining a light on Black writers and features panel talks, music, children’s sessions and a jam-packed marketplace.
In previous years, the Black British Book Festival has seen appearances from the likes of U.S. rap star Eve, broadcaster Charlene White and Diane Abbott MP, with last year’s edition welcoming Sir Lenny Henry, Dawn Butler MP, DJ AG and many more.
Now we can get excited about the next one as the festival organisers have announced it’s set to take place on 4th October 2026 at the Barbican Centre. We’ve been promised “more extraordinary Black authors: powerful panels, live performances, book signings, and the kind of energy you can only feel when the entire community shows up”.
The line-up for the 2026 edition of the Black British Book Festival is set to be announced so keep an eye on their socials for more information.
