London’s Biggest Rooftop Bar Is Opening In Brixton This Spring

Spring in south London’s looking even better as the capital’s biggest rooftop bar is finally opening in Brixton real soon.

Sitting at 33 Brixton Station Road, adjacent to Brixton Village Market, the new open-air space called Freight Brixton will have a capacity of over 1,000 and will serve as a massive new food, music and nightlife hub.

The new spot comes complete with four kitchens, as well as a tequila-led bar from Casamigos and Italian-inspired Hotel Milano serving aperitivo – perfect for those late summer evenings.

The venue has also unveiled its jam-packed events programme that includes day parties, live music, themed brunches and 2026 World Cup screenings.

Freight Brixton is being managed by the team behind the award-winning Freight Island in Manchester which is known for its curated food market and vibrant events.

The Brixton venue was originally scheduled to open in 2024 above the Pope’s Road branch of Sports Direct but the project was delayed due to licensing issues. However, it’s now launching in a nearby venue and is set to be a must-see when it finally opens on 7th May.

With capacity for more than a thousand people and a programme spanning music, food and culture, Freight Brixton looks set to become one of the capital’s biggest summer hotspots — and another major addition to south London’s buzzing nightlife scene.
