London nights are about to get a bit more jumpy as Barbican Centre is gearing up to get in the mix.
The iconic multi-arts centre has announced its ‘anyone can dance’ series where it will host a run of late-night parties celebrating dance and diaspora. The series will see the Barbican transform its level-one foyer into an “intimate dancefloor” with parties ending at 3am.
Five ‘anyone can dance’ events are set to take place this year, with the first party taking place on 20th February courtesy of Eastern Margins – a grassroots collective and label highlighting alternative Asian culture and music. The event will feature a range of artists including viral DJ, Nick Cheo.
Details of the other four parties are yet to be announced.
It’s not the first time the Barbican has kept its doors open late for clubbers as the venue hosted two sold-out parties by Rinse FM and Club Stamina last year. Is Barbican Centre slowly easing its way into London’s nightlife? We’ll have to wait and see.
