Black British Book Festival To Return To Barbican Centre This October

The Black British Book Festival – Europe’s largest Black literature festival – has now announced the date of its 2025 edition.

The poster for the event was revealed on the official Black British Book Festival Instagram page, alongside the caption: “We’re coming again, and it’s going to be MASSIVE!!

“The Black British Book Festival is BACK and we’re coming with more energy, more authors, and more unforgettable moments!”.

Due to take place on 19th October, the 2025 Black British Book Festival will return to the Barbican Centre where it took place last year. As well as bringing together around 80 talented Black authors, the event will also include panel discussions, book signings, performances and more.

Since being established in 2021, the festival has been committed to shining a light on Black writers, including emerging ones. The event has continued to grow in popularity and last year, the number of attendees rose by 20% from the year prior.

Over the years, the festival has included appearances from the likes of Little Mix’s Leigh-Ann Pinnock, MPs Diane Abbott and Dawn Butler, U.S. rap star Eve, broadcaster Charlene White and many more. With this year promising to be even bigger, attendees can expect more surprises.
