Black Eats LDN To Return To Hackney With Three-Day Food Festival This Month

To celebrate it’s fifth anniversary, Black Eats LDN will be returning to Hackney with a three-day food festival this month!

The big news was announced by the organisation’s owner, Jackson McLarty, in an Instagram post yesterday (July 11).

From 25-27th July, Hackney Bridge will host the the three-day extravaganza showcasing Black-owned food businesses, as well as a retail marketplace, a bookshop, live DJs and a Havana Club cocktail menu.

The festival will be comprised of a daytime session (12-4pm) for all ages, and a night-time session (5-9pm) specifically for 18+ only.

The event marks a big return to east London for the Black Eats Food Fest – the UK’s first and only Black-owned food festival – following a successful stint in Lewisham last year.

Black Eats LDN was established in 2020 after McLarty noticed a lack of acknowledgement for Black-owned restaurants in London. In a bid to boost the UK’s Black food scene, he set up a restaurant directory as well as the Black Eats Food Fest which attracts thousands of foodies each year.

With Black Eats LDN celebrating its fifth anniversary, this year’s festival is due to be bigger and better than ever!
